I may be headed up to the Gorge this weekend and there are some spots that I want to fish but are too far too walk (it's not the walk there, it's the walk back in the dark). I have a Yamaha Big Bear 400 atv but it's only two wheel drive. It has decent tread and plenty of power but would it be worthless to take it out on the hard deck not being four wheel drive?

I know you looked at this post and didn't reply [shocked], how about an opinion?

Usually it isnt the snow on the cap thats the problem, I have rarely seen enough snow on the cap a two wheel drive wont do fine. Its getting on the ice that can be the problem if its snowed much. Most of the time I elect to use my old 250sx shaft drive 3 wheeler (chained on one tire). However last season it took a snowmobile to get on the ice from most locations we use.
