What is the most exotic fishing experience you've ever had?
Mine was, at the age of ten, taking a party boat out of Bergen, Norway to hand-line for huge Cod in the Fjords with my Dad.
It was summer, so there was literally no darkness. We left the docks under the midnight sun. They gave us these hand-line set ups rigged with three little rubber jigs and a heavy weight at the bottom.
I ended up catching the biggest fish of the trip (a four foot monster) and won my first jackpot - a little hand-carved replica of those old wooden Fjord fishing boats (a Nordlandsbåt).

That's a really cool story Mark! I've never heard of the fishing in that area, and that is really interesting. No sunlight? I wouldn't be able to sleep. LOL

Mmmm, as for my most exotic fishing experiance. Hard to say. The majority of the fish i've targeted are far from exotic. Though i've been over seas, we still went for the common species. I guess the most exotic experiance i've had was catching these little species of fish along the docks in Guam. No rod or reel, hand lineing like you were speaking of in your post. LOL< just a lot smaller fish is all. These little guys were the size of a bream. We tossed out a small hook with a piece of cut bait on it and pulled them in as quick as we could get the line out. That was pretty fun. [Tongue]

We were in Alaska fishing and we kept catching some really weird looking fish off the bottom we still don't know what species some of them are but both of their eyes were bigger than the whole body of the fish.
