[black]Recently I have found a weather monitoring program that seems like it would be of value to anyone wanting current, valid weather information.[/black]

This is a free program that can be downloaded from the net. The feature that appears to be most valuable to those of us who fish, is the ability of the user to input a zip code, and get a report and live camera of the weather in that area. Most of these live weather stations are located on schools, and will provide temp.,wind direction/speed, weather forecasts, and weather alerts.

I have played with this software for about a week, and to date, have found it quite impressive.

The program can be downloaded by going into Google, and typing in the name of the program "WeatherBug". It's free, and if you find that you don't find it of value, it can be removed.

If you do download and use it, I would be interested in your opinion.

You should know that weather bug is a spyware program and it does track some of the things you do on your computer. It's not a virus or anything but it does send information about your computer habits to other websites. For example if you search the web for fishing alot, you will see alot of web ad's for fishing and so one.

Just thought you might like to know.

[black]Thanks, that's good to know.[/black]
Where did you learn this about weatherBug?

[#ff0000]Update- I just went into the net, and read some comments on WeatherBug. It is a adware program, nothing serious. It is used by TV stations nationwide, by several departments of the US government, and for the most part, has good reviews. Some of the older posts regarding this program were not raving, but the current comments are favorable.[/#ff0000]
[#ff0000][/#ff0000]
[#ff0000]I think that I'll keep it on my PC for continued testing, and if I find anything negative about the program, I'll post additional information.[/#ff0000]
[#ff0000][/#ff0000]
[#ff0000]There was a time when Microsoft rejected the program, but it is now Microsoft certified.[/#ff0000]

[cool][#0000ff]If the weather reports and cams are part of a school system program, it would be difficult to get info on our favorite fishing holes. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Perhaps a better choice would be to consult the page I have put together on our new ARCHIVES AND REFERENCE boards for LAKE CAMS AND WEATHER[/#0000ff]
