CHANCE TO BUY 2008 N.H. FISHING AND HUNTING LICENSES

CONCORD, N.H. -- Representatives from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will be on hand at several upcoming expos and events catering to outdoor enthusiasts. Visit them to purchase your 2008 New Hampshire hunting and fishing licenses, buy a 2008 N.H. Fish & Wildlife calendar and get answers to your wildlife, hunting and fishing questions. You'll also be able to check out the new line of Fish and Game merchandise, from camo hats to T-shirts and fleece vests.

Fish and Game staff will be at the following upcoming events:

TOYOTA EASTERN FISHING & OUTDOOR EXPOSITION: Thursday-Sunday, February 7-10, 2008, at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, featuring everything and anything the angler, hunter or outdoorsman could imagine. New this year at the expo, on Friday only, MyTV is teaming up with New Hampshire Fish and Game to give you an opportunity to audition for an appearance in a televised outdoor adventure featured on "My Outdoors." Just visit the N.H. Fish and Game booth at the Toyota Eastern Fishing and Outdoor Exposition on Friday, February 8, between 1 and 8 p.m. for your video audition. * N.H. Fish and Game fisheries biologist, John "the iceman" Viar will present a talk on a biologist's perspective on ice fishing tactics on Friday evening, February 8. Time and place will be posted on the derby website, listed above.<br />
* On Saturday, February 9, Fish and Game's "Let's Go Fishing" (LGF) program staff and volunteers present a free hands-on clinic for kids and their parents on the basics of ice fishing. Learn how to catch the big one! Sessions run hourly starting at 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. Ice-fishing equipment will be featured, including using tip-ups, sounding the hole and power augers. Then the kids will have a chance to fish!<br />
* During the derby, John Viar and fisheries biologist Don Miller will collect valuable fish data at the derby weigh in. (Last year the state record cusk was registered at derby headquarters!). "The derby affords Fish and Game staff an opportunity to interact with anglers 'on the ground,' where their excitement is palpable!" said Miller.

BOSTON GLOBE TRAVEL SHOW: February 23-24, 2008, at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, Massachusetts. The N.H. Fish and Game Department is partnering with the N.H. Office of Travel and Tourism to bring show visitors an inside look into fish and wildlife activities in the Granite State. Fish and Game staff will present talks on family fishing, wildlife watching and fishing the I-93 corridor. They will also be on hand to help show attendees better understand the real New Hampshire advantage - incredible outdoor activities.
