Fished from 9-1 today, and pretty slow. Moved around to several different spots from SE enter, Slush not to bad, and about 14" of ice of variable quality. ended up with 4 take home bluegills amongst about a dozen total, a few really small perch, and 14" bass that went back down holes. Talked to couple others one guys. One had nada but said he had been marking fish, another group had one small trout that the 4-yr old was most proud off. I let him know that I too thought most highly of that fish!

I think I'm ready for spring!

Nice report Chuck! That's great you caught that nice bass. And you always seem to catch them when others don't. Must be that lucky 2# test!

I think I'm ready for spring as well. Didn't do as well today at Hyrum as I did on Thurs. but it was still fun. The boys caught a few trout and perch, but nothing to get too excited about. Lots of people at Hyrum this morning, how was it there at Mantua? I'd like to try Porcupine or Bear Lake real soon.

Not a lot, and most every one came late. One shelter out from beach at 9 when I got there, but no one from SE entrance. Bit later 10 or so guys showed up off from knoll, some walked, some came across lake on snow mobiles, and a couple 4-wheelers. Maybe 30 people total today. As others have said, it has just been tough fishing at Mantua for whatever reasons given all the fish that are in there.

I have been fishing for bluegills out there the past wk. They have been biting really well!! I just got back from fishing this morning (2/3). I ended up with about 30 bluegills. Biggest is just over 10". I also caught 4 bass ranging from 9-14". There are some real hogs in there you just have to find them. Try fishing in around 4'. They aren't deep like everyone that I have seen fishing out there.
