Went out to Grantsville with my boy yesterday. We got on the ice at about 1:45, and left at about 4:00. Fell on my but twice! Found out that my auger needs new blades (although I did get 2 holes punched). Fish finder worked great (I think). A great day out on the ice! If only there were any fish! About 14 other groups out there, and I didn't see anybody catch anything.
Still fun to get out though![]

I had the exact same experience there about two weeks ago. I did not catch a fish but had fun on the very, very slick ice.

How thick was the ice?

I would say about 8 to 10 inches. Plenty thick.
