Me and some buddies are off Wed. and they want to go to Red Creek. I have been there in the summer, but not in the winter on the ice. Has anyone been there lately, For a report on conditions, etc. Thanks for any info. [

Red Creek is fun but make sure the gate on the road is open. Where the road turns from pavement to dirt there is a gate with a sign that says it will be closed in the winter. I have never been there in the winter so I don't know if it is actually closed. Just something to think about.

After reading your post I didn't want to try Red Creek. But my friends wanted to try it, so we went today. And sure enough the road was plowed to the sign that said "road closed for the winter".
So we backtracked to Strawberry marinia. The road there was plowed, but the blowing wind and drifts made it hard to see were to drive. Snow on slush made it hard to walk to far, only went about 300 yds west of the ramp in 30 to 36 feet of water. Didn't start fishing until about 9:30am. After two hours of wind and slush and four fish in the 18-20 range went packed up and went home. On the way out just before the pay shack the wind and snow made it a white out and we couldn't see the road to well and drove into a snow bank.
After an hour of digging we manged to get out and just then another truck drove by. Wished he would have come by sooner to pull is out. Oh well, we had an adventure today. Sure beats work! [
