Fished Palies today from 9 am to 1 pm and did well. Missed six before I even got one on the ice. Ended up with eleven fish, all sixteen inch or better cutts, and two browns that were twenty plus. Probably would have ended up with more fish but my lines were freezing in the holes which makes it hard to detect bites. Good ol nightcrawlers did the trick. Also, I jigged with a red and grey foxee tipped with a mealie. If you head up, leave the hand auger at home as the ice is thirty inches thick or better. Shore was a little soupy but I was able to get on without a plank. Also, snow machines are getting on at Calamity boat launch without a problem. And the best thing of all, the highway is bone dry. Good luck if you head up.
