Arrive at Jakes Bay at 10am and headed out 1/4 mile. The wind was really blowing which made the sunny morning a bit colder than it appeared. The ice/snow is quite thick I had to extend my drill handle all the way out and I was on my knees by the time I broke thru, good exercise though. So I start fishing with a booger tipped with waxie, no bites. Next I try a curly tail jig tipped with meal worm, no bites. Finaly I decided to drop a swedish pimple with green power bait. The bait works and I hook my first fish. I say hook and not catch because I couldn't get the fish's head lined up with my hole and he broke off. About an hour goes by before I land a nice 19" cutt. After a quick picture I release the fish. That ended up being the only fish of the day. Still it was nice to be on the ice.[cool]

Three of us also were out on Snowmobiles on Sunday - the wind was blowing all day long. We setup in 30' out on the main lake from Chicken Creek East. We started fishing about 8:30 and I caught 7 in the slot in the first hour then it went SLOWWWW... until my buddy kept saying he was getting hits... So I go over to his tent and take a look at his color and then change mine to simular color and action was on again. About 1:00 it slowed again and I changed back to my orginal color and I was right back in the action again.... We never moved..

Lesson Learned: We the actions slows - switch colors!!!

We ended at 2:30 - the fish were still biting. Total for me (with a two pole permit) was 19 - all in the slot - two were 21.5". I also lost several after the initial hookup

Great Day dispite the Breezy conditions....

NOTE: This time on year drop down to 4 lb. test and you will get alot more bites, just remember to retie after each big fish.
