THE Wednesday Open match at Landsend Fishery produced mixed sport.

Top honours went to in-form Dean Malin, of Dynamite Baits, with a mixed catch of carp and silverfish weighing 70lb, taken on pole-fished soft pellets for an easy win.

Alan Page, of Broomhill, took second prize with a carp catch weighing 47lb 13oz, taken on pole-fished sweetcorn. He was followed by Nigel Duckett, of Landsend, with a carp and silverfish catch weighing 38lb 15oz.

Dean Malin also clinched the silver fish prize with a weight of 19lb 9oz.

Other placings: 4 Tom Clark, Avon Angling, 36lb 12oz; 5 Tony Rixon, Mosella, 26lb 15oz.

Landsend Fishery was in good shape for the latest Open match with carp and skimmers feeding well.

Mike Duckett, of Landsend, carried off top prize with an all-carp catch weighing 86lb 6oz, taken alternating with long pole fished pellets and sweetcorn.

Rod Wootten of Dynamite Frys MG took second spot with another carp catch weighing 51lb 6oz, taken on pole fished sweetcorn. He was followed by Ray Cooper, of Dynamite Baits, with another carp catch weighing 42lb 11oz ,taken on pole-fished sweetcorn.

Gary Wall, of Landsend, clinched the silver fish prize with a skimmer catch weighing 21lb.

Other placings: 4 Kevin Moulton, Maver Veals, 27lb 12oz; 5 Gary Wall, Landsend, 26lb 2oz; 6 Ian Dawe, Dynamite Baits, 23lb 6oz.
