Fished the marina, there is about 8 in snow on top of frozen slush and ice, my hand auger was barely long enough to cut through. I saw a 4 wheeler about 150 yards out from the bank. I landed 13 and lost 3 at the hole all were in the slot. Tube jigs were good early in the mourning and cutters were better late in the mourning the fishing turned off at about noon.

Thanks for the report. I've been waiting for a recent report for the berry, since we're headed up on there on Sunday for one last trip. How thick was the ice?

Great report! so is the slush still frozen on top so you can get across easy?

Thanks for the report. Taking the wives in the morning and was a little nervous about slush.

How deep was the water where you were fishing?

Richard, just curious how many wives do you have?[Wink]

I was going to ask the same thing, but in Utah, anything is possible[laugh]

Guess I should have mentioned my brother is coming too.

Finding one that would put up with me was hard enough.[Wink]

It was thick enough that i'm in the market for a power auger.
The two holes I cut the handle of the auger was in the snow when it went through. i usually cut three holes but i didn't have the umph. I was on foot so i don't know about cutting across to haws but I didn't see any sign of slush, was fishing in 26 ft of water, all fish caught on the bottom.

Thanks.

With all the extra drilling we borrowed a gas auger for the day. Sounds like it was a good choice.

See...I need to hook up with someone that has snowmobiles, but just a hand auger. I could bring along the shack(s), power auger, etc, and they just supply the snowmobiles!!

I got one of those deals a few weeks back. It was nice to not get worn out just getting out on the ice.

We decided we didn't want to trek through all the snow and slush, so we rented some snowmobiles for Sunday's trip, but we do only have the hand auger, so that should be fun. Wink The guys always double team it to get it done faster. Hopefully it doesn't snow too much on Sunday.

What about 4 wheelers, could they make it to Haws?

I was on foot so I can't say much but I saw one(4 wheeler) about a 150 yards out from the walk way by the marina.

Thanks for the info, I'm going there tomorrow but I think I will walk just in case.

Are you going to fish by the marina?
