Fished causey with powmow and another friend today from 12-4. The ice is still plenty thick but the edges were soft. Saw one fella get soaked up to his knees. Didn't mark a single fish by the damn in the first 30 minutes we spent there so we packed up and moved. Turned out to be a good call. We had several schools of kokes move through that kept us busy for a few hours. When they weren't movin through the splakes were active enough to keep us busy. By the time we left the storm had set in and it was blizzard conditions. Only saw a few other groups.

I got there at 8:00 this morning with two of my grand children. We were the first people on the lake. I was fishing by the south end of the dam. We had plenty of action until about noon. Then it just died. We cought a lot of small splakes. Brought home 4 splakes and one rainbow. If you pick the right spot there is no problem in getting on the ice. If not you get your feet wet.

Good to hear someone got into some kokes at Causey this year. Was there any size to them? I guess you caught your limits if there were that many kokes coming through. Thanks for the report.

Didn't notice much size increase from last year. Sure are tasty on the smoker though...

the day started off a little ruff but worse for others for some reason i had the bad hole it drove me crazy!! when that school swam under my hole, my fish finder went all black. fish from 0 to 25 feet i must have had twenty hits, but they would let go at the ice but once i iced my first fish it all seamed to work out. and then i had no problem getting them on the ice had fun day with BearClaw snow was bad on the way out
