I read of the stories of combat fishing on the Weber and shoulder to shoulder on the provo, and wonder how far do you walk on average before you start to fish. I've fished the m provo for the last two weeks and saw only one group on the water. They were at least 200 yards down stream. Fished the Weber friday and only saw four people on the way out, and they were at the same four holes everyone fishes. Friday was easily a 20 fish day(6 whites)and the people I spoke with had little or no luck. I'm no expert by any stretch, but I do walk a quarter mile or so before I even think about stripping line. This goes back to my original thought. How far do you walk before you start to fish? Oh yea, Ice off...

Are you referring to how far should person walk before start finishing ? Or How much space should you give your fellow fly fisher man ?

Im on the Weeb 2 to 3 times a week and as of lately on the Provo about the same 2 to 3 times a week. I usually just start at one end of the river and work my way up stream. If I encounter fellow fly fisherman I usually give about a 100 feet of space if not more But I know this isent the general rule I had quite a few fisherman INVADE MY SPACE. Even had a guy tangle his line with mine. [pirate] Havent had this happen the Weeb but as of lately looks like the Weeb is going to be the new middle Provo. [mad]

Just a word to the wise anybody knows me know if I feel crowded I your line is close enough for me to grab I will take my scissors and CUT YOUR LINE !!! [Tongue]
