I was going through some boxes of fishing stuff the other day and came across some old lures I inherited from my Grandpa when he died.

I had never given them a lot of thought but I am wondering if they might be of value as they are pretty old, does anyone know of an appraisal service in Utah?

I know there are some collectors online, but I'd rather talk to someone in person and not deal with mail if these things end up worth anything.

Or do any BFT-ers dabble in antique lure appraisals or collecting?

Just curious if I can retire off these things or if I need to work the rest of my 30 years? [Wink]

I took some old civil war guns to the antiques roadshow a few years back and found out they are worth a couple grand each, maybe if they come back I can take the lures on the show!

Hi,
Another idea would be to keep an eye on ebay. The thing with collecting anything is that often the appraised value of an item is much more than what its actually selling for. If you keep an eye on tackle auctions on ebay, after a week or two you'll have a pretty good idea of what you might get out of a particular lure. HTH, Fred K.
