Fished Strawberry today with Tincanfsh, Narient and Kastmaster. Billy took honors for most fish with 32, I took honors for largest fish at 22 1/2", Jacob took honors by catching the first fish (the first fish he had ever caught through the ice) and also took honors for catching the only rainbow, and George took honors for being the most comfortable all day. For about the first 1 1/2 hours it was a case of drop to the bottom, jig two or three times and set the hook. It slowed down after that but we caught fish all day long (left at 4:00 PM). Another fun day on the ice with fun fishing friends.

Nice report. I'm hoping to hit Strawberry next weekend for my last ice fishing trip. I'm hoping I have a 20+ fish day..

Kent, I assume you where fishing the same area as we did last week. Was the ice/snow/slush conditions about the same as when we went?

[#0000ff]You didn't elaborate on "Kastmaster Komfort". Is there a good story there?[/#0000ff]

Same area that you fished and same ice conditions. Billy moved in to between 20 and 26' when it slowed and had good luck.

George has a tent that is built into his sled. He can flip it up in seconds and be out of the wind and snow. One nice thing about it is that one can just put it up far enough to keep out of the wind and snow (and still be sociable), or one can flip it all the way over and be entireley enclosed. Looked great for one angler, and apparently it isn't very heavy to tow around.

Thanks for the use of your gear, Kent. Overall, the trip was a blast. I've gotta say that this trip has given me a newfound respect for those who go out there on the ice often. That hike kicked my butt. lol

Thanks for letting me tag along and for the use of your power auger, Kent. As usual, it was a great outing and lots of fish caught. The 'kastmaster komfort' is one of those 'clam-type' shelters, ala Dave Genz's Fish Trap. It is the Rover model made by Shappell and makes a windy day a bit more tolerable.
