Panguitch Lake Sunday April 20th, 2003 - Report
I got to Panguitch Lake about 9 am Sunday morning, went thru bryan head - alot of snow still there - air temperature was 40, water temp was 41 . it got about 48 as a high at the lake later in the day . it was calm, but immediately started getting breezier and clouding up . . the barometer was dropping the whole day . .

it gradually got worse as the day went on and on and on . . there was a fair crowd there, only a few boats though . .and nobody seemed to be catching anything . . .i used powerbait, woolly buggers, spinners, nothing . . .saw one fish jump . . that was it . .

i went and ate lunch at the aspen cove resort, where we are having our get together on may 10th for lunch . . everythings all set, had a great lunch, Rudy set me up with a serious bacon cheeseburger . . we've got a real nice room there for lunch . . he said they had a great ice fishing season, showed me pics, wow . .and he said people have been catching more fish all the time . . he said worm/marshmallow was bringing in the fish . .
I sure was depressed to see the level of water in the lake, and even more depressed when i talked to a local who has a cabin up there, and said the dam's been open all winter, and that they had just stopped the flow out of the lake a week ago !!!!!!

heres the boat ramp where i fished off of the shore, i went back after lunch and fished for 2 more hrs, nothing . . more people were showing up to bank fish and to launch boats . .

they say they have a level of water that they cant draw down any further . . i think on a good day the fish will be concentrated with this low water, and you can have a great day . . theres definetely a lot of fish in there! Rudy has boats to rent with motor and all for $45 a day . .very reasonable, so anybody want to motor around with me on may 10th let me know. . . if you got a portable fish finder, all the better . .
