Just got back from another great day on the ice at Strawberry. Got on the ice at 630am and had a pole in by 7am...first hole was 50ft and the second was 59ft...man I need a power auger!!!!I finally hit pay dirt at 38 ft and set up and had my first 25 fish by 830..and 40 for the day again by 1100. I can't believe my dumb luck..2 weeks in a row at the same place, using green tub jigs and waxworm...I used some smelly jelly as per MGB...not sure if it really helped or not...Had my black lab with me and pulled all my gear...No too sunburnt The ice is still a good 20" and a HARD 4-5" crust that was hard to get through

Congrats on the haul! I may go on monday, any pointers? Did it die off after 1100 or did you just leave? I have never had a stellar day at strawberry but with the last few great reports I got a feeling this may be my lucky day. If not it beats not fishing. Looks like you may need to change your name to allbites.[cool]

Late season ice at the berry can be very productive. I'm glad you had a great time.

It died off at 1100 and I ran into a dad with a couple of little kids that had been up for hours and had no success, so I gave up my spot in hopes the kids could catch some fish....I left after giving suggestions, bait and tips to the dad...all in all it was a gorgeous morning on the lake. Stay in 30-40 feet of water if possible, that seems to be the best

Heres a pat on the back for what you did for that Dad with the kids. [
