It depends on where you live and how far you want to drive. In addition to what Ron said, I know that Bear lake and the upper part of the Gorge still has safe ice. WH2

I like this time of year the best! There is still some great ice fishing left. Great weather, don't forget the sunscreen! Roads are seldom a problem. Access is good. Days are longer. Seems like everyone just mills around waiting for open water. I don't understand how people can tough it out through sub-zero blizzards Nov-Feb and then turn around and ignore spring fishing on the ice. Enough of this rant...

Fished Scofield twice last week 18th and 22nd. Both days I had a great time.

18th: Fishyfishyfish and I got there at 8:00 and left at noon. We each caught about eight fish. Not a stellar day catching, but still beat work! I did manage a 19 inch cut and a 17 inch tiger. Weather was great!

22nd: Arrived at 7:00. Caught thirteen fish between 8 and 9 o'clock. Three fish from 9 to 11 o'clock. 16 fish total. One fourteen inch tiger, rest were bows. Again weather was great

Access is easy now. A month ago there was 2 feet of snow/slush to wade through. Snowshoes were almost a must. Those days are gone! The warm days and cold days have put a crust on the snow. Walking around the lake is really easy now. Ice is thick. I have a manual auger and I go all the way past the drill down to the bend in the handle. Power augers I watch go all the way down to the handles. Most of the top stuff is easy to drill through with 18 inches of solid ice on the bottom. Edges are great. There is no water showing at the edges anywhere on the lake. I am hoping for at least three or four more weeks. Morning temps single digits. Afternoon temps high 20's.

Take the family to Strawberry or Scofield. You should have a great time.

It won't last forever!
