I dont like posting this stuff but it just might work....really...and I wanted to work for Exxon..

> THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON.
>
> This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.
>
> Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
> This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy gas on a certain day' campaign that was going around last April or May!
> It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!
>
>
>
> I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer, and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?
>
> We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy gas.
>
> It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
> BUT, whoever thought of this idea has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read on and join with us!
>
>
> By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $3.19 for regular unleaded in my town.
>
> Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..not sellers.
>
> With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.
>
> The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
>
> How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.
>
> But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.
>
> Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.
>
> If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices.
> If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.
>
> But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!
>
> I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) . and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers.
> If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!
>
> If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!
>
> Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all!
>
> (If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am . so trust me on this one.
>
> How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days !!!
>
> I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you!
> Acting together we can make a difference.
>
> If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.
>
> Keep it going!!!

[cool][#0000ff]This thing makes the rounds on the Internet every time there is a gas bump...going back about 4 years.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]It will never work because everybody is concerned only about their own lives and their own needs. Nobody has the gumption or the discipline to make it work. People are people.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]It has been tried on a local basis, but the gas retailers just laugh. What people don't buy one day, they buy the next. The dollars come out the same at the end of the week.[/#0000ff]

Let me tell you why this won't work. I work for an oil company and I'm familiar with how things work. The refiners sell gasoline to many different retailers. If you stop buying gas from Exxon and start buying gas from Chevron it's not going to hurt Exxon. The refining capacity in the U.S. is at near maximum. Chevron can't produce enough gasoline to supply all of the new buyers that moved over from Exxon. What do they do? Chevron buys gas from Exxon to meet their demands. It happens every day. Go park near one of the refinery loading racks and watch all the different names on the trucks. One other point about prices. We were paying around $2 a gallon when crude was $45. Now crude is $110. Does it make sense that gas would also double?
[signature]
The point is that there is absolutely NO reason for crude to be $110. We do not allow monopolies in this country so why do we trade with them? Someone needs to stand up to OPEC and do something about this BS. The profit margins the oil companies are realizing are rediculous! They justify raising the price of gas with the war in the middle east when it has no effect on how much gas should cost. Most consumers are just ignorant and accept it and we all end up paying for it. Our politicians won't do anything about it because most of them are corrupt and have interests in the oil industry in some way or another. OK I'm done, that's my rant for the day. But these prices need to come WAY down!

I believe it's the oil companies putting pressure on the government because of the big push for alternative energy and going gas free and what that impact will have of thier companies.

They are getting it while they can IMO.......and who can blame them.
[signature]
The oil companies own most of the alternative fuel technologies also. Either way they win.

I wish there was something we could do.[mad][mad][mad][mad] Govenment could do alot more but lobbyist line the politicains pockets as they empty ours!!!

[#808000]LMAO, I love the uneducated people that think this stuff up. If you want cheap gasoline prices tell your poloticians. We need to drill our own resources such as ANWAR and build more refineries to handle the capacity.[/#808000]
[#808000][/#808000]
[#808000]Every single person in the United States could boycott Exxon and Mobil Gas Stations for the rest of thier lives and the only people that it hurts is the Gas Station Owner. ExxonMobil as a corporation has already made all of thier money well before any gasoline ever hits the gas station.[/#808000]

why do you think anwar oil would be cheaper than opec or venezualan oil ???

will we the citizens own this oil ? no . . .it will be sold for a $1 sweetheart lease to some oil company thats in bush's camp, and it will sell for the same price as all other oil . .

[#808000]We should be drilling our own oil and then regulating the prices just like we do with Natural Gas. Its called energy independence, in case you have never heard of it! We have enough reserves within our own borders and off of our own coasts to supply our country cheaply for a long enough period of time until a cost effective alternative energy source can be widely used amongst the people of OUR great country.[/#808000]
[#808000][/#808000]
[#808000]The only way price regulation can work is when we are using our own reserves rather than reserves from any OPEC country. If you get one of your Socialist candidates elected President and they impose price regulations while we are buying oil in the World market OUR country will see an energy crisis that would make the one in the '70s seem small. [#808000]Ethenol is one of the worst ideas anyone in OUR Government has ever come up with, especially since a vast majority is made from corn. Trading one commodity for another doesn't make good sense especially when corn is a primary food source of our nation. Too make things worse many other crops such as Wheat have been replanted with corn to help with the rising demand of corn. I was watching on the Communist News Network (CNN) about how a box of Cheerios was costing $8 a box and a loaf of bread as much as $5 in many parts of the country. They contributed 90% of the increase to the Ethenol demand and 10% to the cost of fuel to ship the food.[/#808000]

[#808000]Oh ya one more thing, McCain is not any better than either of the two Socialists when it comes to his energy policies. He is so far left when it comes to drilling our own oil and the Global Warming is caused by people farce, that we are simply screwed.[/#808000]

Amen. Sooner or later someone will get the coal gasification process to be efficient enough to make it plausible.

[#808000]I know ExxonMobil has spent tens of millions on "Cold" Hydrogen Reformation. If they could get that figured out a vehicle could literally travel thousands of miles between fill ups that would consist of Water and Natural Gas. It also would only emit 1/10 of the amount of CO2 that todays gas engines do.[/#808000]
