well it wasn't fast and furious, but I finally broke my over 3 month fast from catching a fish. After my ecology class, I went down by springville where the river comes in and caught one really decent sized Large mouth bass, then went to Lincoln beach and lost a white bass at the shore while soaking some bait. Even though the fishing was slow the weather was absolutely beautiful. I did see a couple of guys take home an obviously illegal Large mouth though [mad] I couldn't get their license plate number though before they took off. Anyway hope the fishing picks up soon,

I used to like to fish there in Springville. I never do expcept from a boat anymore. Someone here aptly named it amigo bay. You can see just about any kind of fishing regulation violation under the sun there.

Seems like it would only be illegal if you were fishing in the river (protecting the walleyes during the spawn I think). Though I could be wrong and I don't have my fishing guide in front of me.
My question is, how do you drive down to that area? Can someone PM me and give me directions?

thanks for the info. I was fishing where it comes out into the lake and it sounds like from that that it is illegal, thanks again for the info,

I had this question in mind last year when I went to the Provo Boat Harbor to fish the River, so I asked about the Provo river, and then asked about the Camelot Park dirt road which takes you to where two places the water runs into the Lake. Like the Pipe for example.
Well, the Park Officer told me that it was considered to be the mouth of the Lake, which is legal to fish with the river restrictions in effect, just like it is legal to fish from the Harbor Bridge where the river runs into the Lake, (the bridge is before you come into the Provo Harbor to pay).
I don't really know if that is just one officers opinion, or if that is the rule.
You may want to call the UDWR to verify it.
To me, if the more officers you meet say the same thing then it must be the rule, and not just an opinion.

I was told that it is only illegal to fish the river if you are fishing the mouth of it where it comes into the lake and not casting up river you should be fine i target the waleye every year and have been approached by several DWR Guys and they all say the same thing i sure hope it picks up soon for the eyes ive only heard of a couple small ones being caught
