I called Bridgeport, June Lake, Mammoth and Bishop for info on the weather. Currently there is a storm with snow over the whole area. They expect it to clear for the Saturday opener, but to expect another that night. Corey Zigler from Ziglers Sporting Goods in Bridgeport says it's no different from any other opener for the last 20 years. In the Sierras you can't anticipate any weather in the early spring. It snows daily above 7000 feel, feel lucky if it isn't at the lower elevations. The one thing you can count on is that it will always be 18 degrees at night. That's why I go later. Good luck to the hardy and don't forget your ice augers.

Hello George,

Thanks for the heads up, but even with all that freezing cold, If you're gonna freeze your butt off, can't think of a better place to do it (HAHA).

Shawn from FTC braved that freezin cold, it'll be great to hear how he did?

When are you thinking about heading up George?
