I made it out this evening for a couple of hours. I wanted to show my three older boys the bald eagle that inhabits Ririe at this time of year.
Only caught three perch. The eagle did make a brief appearance, but then took off.
The edge ice is getting dangerous. You can still get on using the boat ramp, but be careful. The ice was still 18-20" in the center but conditions can change quickly at this time of year. I drilled several test holes on my way to the spot.
I think is about time I switched to fly fishing and the rivers before they muddy up.
