Ok guys here she is the new toy!!! Tube dude now I need to see some of your custom upgrades you have done to your tube as far as pole holders goes. I have my waters , tube, air pump(electric), life vest, fishing poles, fly pole and all I need now is my fins and good place for a beginner. I have posted some pics of where I think a first spot to hit would be. Before I move to the big lakes. I’m going out sat and probably hitting Pelican marina as well to get just to the new stuff. Any suggestion or all suggestions are welcome!!

By the way as far as life vest goes how many of you actually wear the all the time your fishing? I was told i could just have it in my toon just in case of an emergency.

I always wear my life vest but don't think I've meet anyone else that does. I have some health problems and get tired easily so I wear mine.

Great looking craft you have there, L2F. Looks kind of familiar. Here's mine at the end of summer, 2006.

I've done a complete overhaul of the mods since then but you can see that mine is identical to yours. Hope you enjoy making it fit your kind of fishing.
BTW, I always wear my PFD. It's inflatable, though, so doesn't force me to bulk up. If I had a regular foam type I'd just toss it in the back.

[cool][#0000ff]Pelican Harbor would be a good first launch. Always nice to have a smooth ramp. Just watch out for the slick algae.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Don't recommend tubing that spot below the gates yet. It is still low, and difficult to get your gear down the rocks without a mishap. But, on the other side of those gates...to the south...you can launch easily in the slow water. Two good spots on the west side of the channel. Good fishing for cats and other species next to the reeds.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]You would be welcome to bring your pride and joy over to my place if you want to see my setup firsthand, and maybe get a start on the modifications. Shoot me a PM for address and directions.[/#0000ff]

That's no joke about the slick algae. I had a great fall a few years ago and broke a handle of a reel. Of couse I had two friends there that found it quite funny.

Nice looking ride there. The only suggestion I would make is had a manual pump. I know a lot of the electrics will not get them aired up quiet enough. I use the pump that Wall-mart carries it is like 16.99 and works great.
