Hi all!
I got a new boat and want to mount the new fishfinder. But I don't really want to drill through the transom for the FF cable and don't really want to mount the transducer on the transom either.
I know it is possible to epoxy the transducer inside the hull and have it shoot thru the fiberglass. But I have a few questions...
1. From what I have read I will get some signal degradation because of the fiberglass. But how much? Anyone with any experience here?
2. Will the temperature still work somewhat accurately? Is seems unlikely that the water temp reading will be accurate if the transducer is in the engine compartment?
Any other advice or suggestions on this topic? Thanks!
