Picked up nugs and headed for the berry arriving at 7ish. We walked a little off course and landed too close to shore and dug our first hole in 6 feet of water...we moved and hit 12...15..20..and after 13 + holes (by hand) we hit the magic 30+ depth. We were catching and getting bites regularly and then it stopped for quite a while. It picked up again for another run and nugs landed several again. We only caught about 8 or so, but had a great time getting to know each other and just chilling on the ice. We were the only ones on the entire lake at the marina. Now the lake info...we were digging in about 32 inches of ice and slush. No snow on top at all, and you can see cracks all over the lake. We wore only sweat shirts and levis...It was sooo warm, no clouds and NO WIND all morning. I called home and heard it was windy and dusty....
What a day to be out of the city...Using green and white tube jigs with meal worms, cutters and worms....everything worked at least once...
