Following are the BassFan World Rankings presented by Tru-Tungsten as updated after the recent Amistad Bassmaster Elite Series. Notable movement:

Kevin VanDam is currently in somewhat of a slump after a 50th-place average finish in two April Texas events. However, his win at Toho this year, plus his strong fishing the past 2 years, continues to buoy him. He maintains a significant lead, which now sits at 15 points.

Skeet Reese (2nd) and Andy Morgan (3rd) retain their positions, although Morgan creeps about 6 points closer to Reese.

A 4th-place finish at Amistad helps Mike McClelland climb two spots to 4th. Three wins (2006, 2007, 2008) continue to help him.

Amistad winner Todd Faircloth leaps up a big seven spots to 5th. His consistency over the past year stands out. He's finished worse than 27th just twice in the previous 15 events. Those two "other" finishes were 41st and 68th.

Jay Yelas, who fishes the FLW Tour, climbs one spot based on movement around him.

Aaron Martens, who finished 74th (out of 109 boats) at Amistad, slips four spots to 8th. A slow start to the year for Martens, coupled with the fact that he recently dropped two Top 20s and a 2nd from the 2006 season, contributes to that slip.

Michael Bennett, who won the Lewis Smith FLW Tour earlier this month, climbs an additional four spots.

Edwin Evers continues to move back toward the Top 10. After some up/down finishes last summer and a slow start this year, a 4th at Amistad helps him improve four spots to 15th. He'll have to pick up the overall pace though, because over the next few months, he'll drop one-by-one his memorable string of four Top 10s from 2006.
