I might have to take the boat out for the first time this Saturday and was wondering where the best would be to launch. I probably will be fishing solo and don't know where to launch that has docks.

Where are you located? It may be easier if you question the waters near you. Name some waters you would like to try and we can help from that. Just a suggestion. And remember, not everywhere has open water.

I live in Clinton/Layton area and want to go bass fishing. Looking at Pineview, Mantua or Hyrum.

Pineview was a pain in the @$$ launching by myself on Wed, but I gotter did!!!. Yeah they have docks in the water, half of them are sinking and the other half are scattered all over the place like the rest of the trash in the water. Heck there is one dock that made it all the way down to the dam some how!!! I just put my trailor in the water, get out unhook the boat and pull her up into the mud/sand, take the anchor and stick it in the mud to hold the boat in case of wind. Then when I put the boat on the trailor I just back it into the water, shut the truck off, hop in the boat and drive her onto the trailor, not too bad, but when the w--- is blowing it makes it tricky!!!

Thanks looks like pine view will have to do and I will just try my best to get it done. Did you lanuch at the main launch right off the highway?

Yeah the one on the.......North West side of the lake. Is there a name for that launch?

Mantua is an easy launch by yourself. You can leave your boat at the dock or beach it right next to the dock. Bass fishing may be better there than pineveiw. It's a much shallower lake so the fish are easier to find, and the water warms quicker.

I like fishing Manuta plus its going to be windy tomorrow so it might be the best place to get a bite. Have you been up there yet this year? Are the docks still in place?

I haven't made it up to mantua yet. I'm gonna wait till the water warms up a bit, and make a camping trip out of it.
