However, I've found that many spinnerbaits fall too quickly and don't helicopter enough. To fix this, use a wire cutter to trim a spinnerbait's arm to about half its normal length. Then, reattach the blade by using needlenose pliers to bend a new loop in the end of the arm. In addition, replace the factory-installed blade with a large Colorado blade[/size][/font]

Another neat trick is to add a second skirt of the same of contrasting color. This gives the bait some bulk without changing the profile much. It slows the fall a bit and the extra bulk makes it easier for a hawg largemouth to suck the bait in when it opens its maw.
