STRIPED BASS - The spring run of bass in the Connecticut River has
taken a firm hold. Migratory bass are spread out in the lower River.
The flood level is dropping and the clarity is improving slightly, still
keep a sharp eye for logs and other debris in the water. Anglers
pitching sandworms from the DEP Piers and Saybrook Point have been getting
fair numbers of 1 to 2 foot stripers. The few that have been out in boats
have been getting slightly larger bass along the east bank of the
River from the Lieutenant River to the south end of Great Island. The best
results are still coming on lead heads with plastic tails.

FLOUNDER - Actually we've heard of some improvement in the Niantic
River. The best news I heard that an angler caught a few from shore at
Saybrook Point. It may be time to try the Breakwater on the flood tide.

BLACKFISH - We actually heard of some blacks being taken from the
mouth of the Niantic River. Reports from Hatchetts Reef were negative.
This is the last few days of the spring season. We'll have green crabs
available today.
