Made our first outing to L.P. Talked to someone who did well on Saturday from 11-2. So we arrived at 11 Sunday morning. Headed to the large area past the narrows, where there are high-water docks on both sides. Found lots of them by the "island" (which is covered at high water). Others had told us they were in tight on the western shore, but we found them in the middle. Picked up one limit fast, lost another 4 or 5. Biggest was 16". I can't remember them being this big this early on. And then it shut down. Couldn't buy a fish. Still graphing them at 16'. Go figure. We tried different depths, but nothing worked. Still, a good day. They were hitting wedding rings and corn, either behind kokanee flashers or a small dodger. I think we are going to be in for a great year. Mike

Mike: Thanks for this report. Even though its 10 minutes from the house I've not yet been. Down in Rancho Mirage for the last week; in Cedar City, UT tonite on my way home. I'll try it in the next few days. Better take the DR's just in case I need to go a bit deeper. This time of the year it does seem to be hit and miss regarding time of day. The lunar tables help some; I usually check them and then plan my days and times until the bite really takes off later on. Good to hear of 16"ers. They are fat at that length as opposed to the 11 to 13"ers.
Good luck and by all means try the Chums.
Burt.

We hit Lucky Peak yesterday and fishing was great before the wind got real bad. We fished around the dam and the north side coves and limited on kokes in two hours plus we lost at least that many!! We used Double Dees flashers and 4 or 5 kinds of wedding rings and kokanee killers and caught fish on all of them at all depths. Nice fish--12-14 inches long and real fat-great fighters and very active-guess that is why we lost so many even tho we used snubbers and brought them in real slow. And dont forget the shoepeg corn!

Thanks for the follow-up report, Mike. I'm heading up in the morning. Scenting the corn as I write. Burt.

We're planning on heading up ourselves, as long as the wind settles down a bit. Keep a look out for the blue Hewescraft, and I will likewise be looking for you. Hope you clean up on the kokes!! Mike
