I will be there this weekend for business and was wondering if it would be worth the hassle to take a rod and some tackle with me. Does anyone know of any places I may be able to access from the backs of rivers or lakes if I get some free time.

Thanks
Majja

[cool][#0000ff]Man, that is in the middle of the "oil patch". Ugly flat land with no vegetation or nothin'. Not the end of the earth, but you can see it from there.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]If you have to spend too much time there, you will probably be ready to use the .22 lure on yourself.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Too bad you couldn't have been sent to Lake Fork...or San Antonio area. Lots of good fishin' holes down thataway. [/#0000ff]

There are three local 'tanks' in Midland, Beal Park Lake, C.J. Kelly Park Pond and Midland Wadly Barrow. The first two have bass, CJ has the Florida strain of bass but not sure about Wadly. These bass have seen everything but from I've learned from fishing in Texas it seems that Billy Joe and Joe Bob fish the local ponds and throw (or chunk) big spinnerbaits and frogs or 10" worms. I would think a salt stick would slay 'em. Down in Texas stop at a tackle store, they have all sorts of goodies that we don't have. See if you can find Lake Fork Tackle products and check out their new swimbait. I can talk forever, headed down to Gunlock and Quail this weekend with some friends, you're going this weekend?
