Just got back from our first trip up to Brownlee Reservoir in Idaho this year. Wasn't the greatest fishing, but we did manage a few. The lake was low and the campground was busy, but the weather was awesome. We found probably the last camping spot available on a Friday afternoon at Woodhead, but it was a great view. The place was packed do to a bass tournament, nice weather and one of the only boats ramps open on the reservoir, what a zoo.

The first day we used crankbaits and jigs and only caught a few bass and crappie, but POZE got lucky and hooked this big fat cat on a lead headed jig with a brown grub.

The second day we used the drop shot method and did find more bass in the 13"-15" range. Wasn't nothing special, but it felt darn good to be out on the water.
We are going back up next week for a few more days, so hopefully that report will be better.

EZOP: Thanks for the report. Bet that cat provided some nice fillets. Have yet to try Brownlee but will get up there this year. Grandson is anxious to do some bass and crappie fishing rather than our usual kokanee and trout trips.
How long before the lake comes up?
Burt.

We are headin up the last week of May. I hope the action picks up by then. Do you know what tournament was on the lake? I would like to see how they did.

I think I heard they were shooting for a full lake by early June. It's looking like 2006 levels.
I was chatting with some of the tourney guys, but the name didn't stick in my head. It must have been a wide open fun tourney, becuase it wasn't a normal all bass boat tourney. There was rental boats, pontoon boats, inflatable boats, every kind of boat, including a drift boat with an electric motor and oars in it. I believe I heard 45 or so boats when they let them loose one by one.
