<br>Join ecologist and landscape historian Nancy Sather for a short nature hike followed by an indoor program that highlights the natural resources of the Lake Shetek area as they were described by the Nicollet and Allen expeditions in 1838 and 1844. This hike and program are a prelude to the Nicollet Tour from Lake Shetek to Pipestone on

<br>On the Trail of Nicollet
<br>Join landscape historian Nancy Sather for a full-day bus tour that follows as closely as possible the route of Nicollet's 1838 exploration from Lake Shetek State Park to the Pipestone National Monument. The tour is enhanced by onboard readings of historical narratives; on board displays of historical maps; and four short field trips to explore what remains of the forests and prairies visited by this historic expedition. Board the Prairie Ecology Bus at 8:45 AM in the parking lot by the Lake Shetek State Park swimming beach, or at 9 AM near T Tommy's in downtown Currie, MN, and return to the park by 3 PM.<br>

<br>Bus space is limited. Please register early. Visit www.ecologybus.org/ or call (507) 662-5064 for more information. Early bird registration before June 1 is $15. After June 1, registration is $20. Registration fee assures your seat on the bus and covers refreshments and a buffet lunch.<br>

<br>A Park permit is required for entry into Lake Shetek State Park.
