STRIPED BASS - Theres going to be some interesting times this coming
week. Todays rains should move the bass and bait around and thats to be
expected. When the River calms down it should solidify the fishing.
Old news, last week had some poor days on the Connecticut River. There
were some good numbers occasionally, but it was inconsistent. The most
activity is still the Lieutenant River to Blackhall River along Great
Island. There have been some larger bass showing up in the last couple of
days. They are hitting surface lures now and one of the best fish
finders to use at this time is the 9" Slug-go. We are approaching mid May
and the smaller schoolies will be thinning out. Shore bound anglers are
still scoring with consistency at Saybrook Point and the DEP Piers. News
of bass outside the River has been sparse however that should change
next week.

BLUEFISH - They've been at Millstone for the past week and should
be in the Connecticut River in the next few days. The run we've heard
of in NY have been numerous and up to the mid teens in size.

FLOUNDER - If you read last weeks report its not as good. We have
heard of only an occasional flat being caught.

FLUKE- Season is closed in Connecticut but open in RI and open in NY
on May 15th.

BLACKFISH - The season is closed.

I've got to hang tight till Vt for momma. But seeing as I'm not killing them I need to hit the harbor more this year for gas savings. I hope the blues come in stronger this year and the crabs do well.
