Got up bright and early and hit Scofield by 6am. Nothing happening on the surface but it they sure were active down below. The day started off with lots of bites, but I was having a hard time hooking them. I have never had such a low hook ratio before. I ended up switching to a much bigger hook. It took about ten bites before I was able to hook up. By far the best day I have had on Scofield. Had to land at least 30 fish for the day with two cutts, three tigers and the rest bows. A couple were in the 2-3 pound range. I didn't bring my tripod so only took a few pictures. Stopped fishing a little after 12.

They were hitting everything. I rarely if ever fish with powerbait but decided to give a try. Also got them on various jigs, crawlers, minnows, and wax worms. I ended up with no minnows, almost no worms, and an empty jar of power bait. It was almost too hard to fish with two rods because as soon as I was getting ready to use the second pole, the first one would get a bite. I've fished ice off at the Berry but it wasn't nearly as good as Scofield. One guy that was fishing next to me kept a cutt, tiger and bow that were all in the 3 pound range. He had a very productive day as well.

It was flat and calm for most of the day until about 11am and then the W came up and turned the water into a wavy mess. Wish I could go again but heading off to Yosemite.

Were you shore or boat fishing? But either way, I can tell it was a great day.[Smile]

His pic's show that he was on the shore. Sounds like it was a great trip.

thanks for the report KT. Do you care to share general area where you were?

I added the same picture twice, but I have switched it to the one I wanted to add before. Now you can clearly see I'm on the shore. The water level is really low at Scofield, way under what it was last year. Not as bad as Deer Creek though.

Great pics! Those troutskis sure are pretty up there.

Any idea if there are docks in the water? State park ramp open? Great post. Thinking about heading up tomorrow with my boat. Thanks for any info.

Hey Nica, I believe it was close to the state park that I was fishing. I am really not familar with the different parts of Scofield. I don't think it was the location, as I heard a father and two kids catching lots of fish way far away. I couldn't see them but I did hear them catching fish.

JBinUTAH, I really didn't look at the docks but the I believe the ramp is open. Didn't see any boats in the water but did see a few get pulled past where I was fishing. I would guess there is another ramp on the opposite side of the lake.

Another report has East Canyon doing really well so that might be another place to consider if Scofield doesn't work out for some reason.

The docks are in the water and the state park is open. We launched our boat from there today.
