Hit EC Saturday to make sure everything on the boat was working prior to heading to the Gorge for the season. Everything worked as advertised including some of the new RMT Lures we have this year. We launched about 9 am then headed south past Taylors. Water was 49 degrees when we launched with no wind. Didn't find any big fish south so decided to troll back to the dam along the west side. Still only picking up small slimmers. Once we found the deep water around the dam fishing really picked up, but still nothing bigger than 14 inches. We did have 2 doubles that caused a little excitement. Ended up with 19 total. 12 were caught on a modified Pink UV Squid rigged behind a bahama momma dodger at 10 feet. The other 7 were caught using the new pink and purple spinner behind a hyper plaid dodger at 15 feet. Water temp was 52 when we left at noon. Still no wind. Saw a few people around the dam shore fishing but only saw one fish caught. A good outing just to make sure everything worked. Really disappointed in the size of the fish however. All planters with clipped fins and a few scares from anchor worms. But at least I wasn't mowing the lawn or shovelling snow.

Not a bad day for East. Usually the big boys don't play much until the fall. Has the water come up much yet?
