I recently bought a Fish Cat 4 float tube and am having trouble installing the second section of foam padding that goes into the seat. I contacted Fish Cat and they said it should fit OK, but I can't see how it can possibly fit in without considerable trimming of the foam. Any hints or suggestions would be greatly appreciatted. Thank you

[cool][#0000ff]DO NOT TRIM those seats. They are correctly sized to go in...if you put them in properly. (see pic).[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Try airing up the tube just slightly...not enough to put any pressure on the foam seat. Then, wet down the inside of the seat pocket and also the ends of the foam. A little moisture helps lubricate the high friction materials. Have patience and work the ends in a little. Once they start, the rest follows much easier.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]If it makes you feel any better, just about everybody who gets a tube with the foam seats had trouble getting the foam properly inserted the first time. And, just about everybody is convinced that they got a defective tube, with oversize foam. But, once you get it set up, you will smack yourself on the head when you find out that they really do go together.[/#0000ff]

Exactly what Tube Dude said. Plus once you do get it in, you will realize, that a snug fit is very important.

If you wrap twine VERY tightly around the foam to compress it, it goes in easily. After the foam is in, there is plenty of room to take blunt scissors like Fiskars and cut and remove the twine. Worked well on the last 4 Fish Cat #4s. here in this area. Mike
