Heard Scofield was iced out. So, I headed up. Sure enough, it was.

Started fishing on the south side of Dam Bay near the mouth. No hits on powerbait. Caught and released numerous small tigers on a gitzit micro tube. Also caught bait. 1 small redsided shinner, and 4 6-14" chubs. Yup, they're in there pretty thick now. Threw the shinner out under a bubble, and not thirty seconds later got taken under. Yahoo. First sizable troutski, a 17" Tiger. He gave me my minnow back, so I gave him his freedom lmao Threw the poor ripped up shinner back out, same result. This time, though. The fish had shoulders. That much, I'll tell you. Took about 5 minutes to land him on sturdy gear. 25" hookjaw Tiger. GEORGEOUS FISH! Caught one more 20" egg laiden rainbow on a worm before moving on from that spot.

I moved over to the other side by the docks later on because of the W. Got some minnows, waited for the bucket/ice combo to take it's toll on their lives, and went at it again. I tried one pole with a 1" fillet-o-chub and one with a whole dead shinner. Both worked wonders. Between noon and 4 when I left, I counted 42 rainbows and tigers between 14-18". One more hook jaw male rainy that went 21.

Scofield is red hot, guys. Just gotta take your time, and when you get on fish, wait. They seem to come through in schools. Most everyone else I talked to had a slow day. Guess it just goes to show if you know a place, you'll catch a lot of fish.
Are they mostly crusing the middle and bottom or is there also surface action?

I thought your report had very good details and info. I may be able to hit the 'Field' then, or at least will look for a chance. Trout over 20 inches are more than worth a drive.

Man! Would have been sweet to see some pics of those Hookjaw Tigers.

Sounds like you did good. We were the ones in the bass boat. We did so so. Out at the island and caught six. Nothing special. one tiger, three cutts, two bows between the two of us. Cold and very windy. Nothing of any size. All on worm marshmellow combo. Left about 12:30. Would have loved to catch a tiger like you caught. Glad you did good. How did the others do around you? Seemed way slower than what we were expecting.

A lot of surface action, for sure. Especially within about 20' of the shore. They're in full minnow mode right now, "boiling" on minnows and all. The bigger trout push the poor little minnows and chubbies into the banks, and slaughter them. Kinda cool to just sit and watch, too. A little bit of rock structure sure seems to help, too. Look for any action by the shore, and if they're there, the fish will hit.

I had some pics on my phone. Saw elk on the way out, took pics of them, too. Got home and only had pics of the elk [frown] I've had the same thing happen four other times this year. Trust me, I'm packing a digital from now on. It's going epic this year to say the least, and I wanna document it lol
Thanks for your photographing efforts. A camera will be nice. Fishing is not just about the fish, but the drive, scenery, wildlife, and everything else.

I don't have a digital camera. I am looking for a good brand and type. I would just rather spend the money on buying me some more good reels and equipment. I will just stay with my old Olympus for now.
