I am planning another sturgeon trip. I have extended some invites to those who have previously expressed an interest in going; however, I have gotten many “Wish I could go, but not able to make it this time” responses. Although some are still checking their schedules, because the time is getting short I am opening up the invite. We will be going up near Mountain Home, Idaho fishing from my 19’ boat (leave Bountiful area at about 4:00 PM Wednesday June 4th and return Saturday evening June 7th). If[#000000] the forecast is for stormy or windy weather the trip will not happen until later.[/#000000]

We share expenses for fuel and bait. Each person should plan on spending around $130 ($13.75 more if a two-rod permit is purchased) for fuel, bait, and a two-day (June 7th is Free Fishing Day in Idaho) fishing license. I have tackle that can be borrowed; however, if any tackle is lost or broken I will expect to be reimbursed. Only other expenses would be cost of food (we eat out once going each way) and then each of us is responsible for our own food. We camp on the river at no cost.
For those not familiar with sturgeon, they are the largest freshwater fish in North America. The largest we have caught from my boat was 90 inches and would weigh about 220 pounds. Of course I can not make any guarantees; however, based upon previous trips the likelihood of us catching several sturgeons is high.

You are just rubbing it in, I am sick to my stomach that I can't make it, but things are slow at work I really can't take any more time off. I do want to see the pictures though sounds like you should have a blast!

One of these days I'd like to get up there to fish with you. I'll likely be in Las Vegas that weekend. [:/] I used to fish for the dinos quite a bit back in the Bay Area when I lived there. My good buddy Sean's family is very connected with sturgeon sportfishing in the Bay Area. They are one of the few families left still harvesting grass shrimp for bait in the bay(since the 60's I think?). My largest is only 74 inches, ~120#, but caught on 25# test. It jumped like a tarpon! Holler at me if you get up there again later this year! I look forward to your report. Good luck!

The boat is probably full. If an opening occurs I will reply to this thread.
