Team Quill hit Brownlee Reservoir again in Southwest Idaho May 13-18th. Weather was hot, lake was low and the campground was crowded. The first day out weather was cloudy and a few sprinkles falling every so often, but the fish didn't mind. We drop shot with a purple plastic in 15' and had a pretty good time with small mouth. Size varied, but 12"-14" seemed to be the magic number, with an 18" or 19" every now and then.
The next day was a little slower and the fish where smaller, we tried some different areas and just couldn't dial it in. But we did find a gazzillion small crappie in the 8" and 9" range all over. Heres my favorite fish licker with one of the many she caught.
We did mange to get a pretty cool camping site, beings it was pretty packed. Nice view and close to the restrooms. Even the dog was liking it.

Here's a view from out in the reservoir looking back at the Woodhead Campgrounds.
Our last day fishing was pretty good again, we had followed some advice from some new friends we met and used a shakey head jig in 12' of water near some sandy/rocky points. We caught bass again in the 13"-17" range and even some big crappie at 11".
The temps ended up being around 90 degrees and the lake rose about 10 foot that week we where there. There was also a big bass tournament going on, but we didn't feel like bragging to the pro's about our catch. hahaha
So we have no idea how they did.
Until next time,
