[#002850]Fished Willard today with Bait_Caster and Victor. We launched the 17 ft. Trophy at 6:00 AM from the North marina. Stayed center channel while leaving the marina with no problems.

The lake is still 10-12 feet low. Up around Freeway Bay, what used to be 20 feet deep is only 10 feet deep.

The wind was blowing and rain coming down constantly till we left at about noon. We seen Reel Fast and MileNine out there around the island and feed lot area. ( I only know that from an earlier post.)

We landed a few wipers and lost a few. Everything came in on the planer boards. I sure do hate using planer boards but they sure do increase your ods.

It is absolutely amazing how water proof foot wear and rain gear can make a rainy day bearable. It’s nice to remove your rain gear and still be relatively dry underneath. (Please, no comments from the spoiled ReelFast team.[:p]) But at 30 mph, the rain does hurt the face a little bit.[/#002850]

Hey, we got wet too[Wink] but you are right that rain gear makes a big difference. Good to hear we weren't the only ones out there today. We weren't too sure about when to go out this morning but we figured there was no reason to be out there too early. Good to hear you guys caught a few, I guess no walleye were caught?

lordCrappie and myself along with a few other guy were out today also. We had the kids with us so we didn't last too long, about an hour or so. We had about a dozen hits but couldn't get anything to stick. I did manage to hook a carp but thankfully it jumped and threw the hook before it got to the boat. I never marked any fish but I did manage to notice the water temp was around 55 degrees. We weren't sure whether we should go or not because of the weather but figured it was worth a shot any ways. Oh well I guess it can't always work out. Maybe next time the weather will cooperate.

[#002850]No walleye for us ...

For the first few hours, we had the lake to our selves. And never once did we see a water skier. Kind of cool (more ways than one) for a Memorial Day weekend wouldn't ya say?

From the posts, I'm kind of wondering if there were any fishermen out there that wern't registered BFTers. Bunch of tough diehards ......................

[#000000]It was good to get on the pond with ya, "Old_Coot" & Vic: Glad to have a few laughs, and get wet together![/#000000]
I gotta say, after all the wind, rain etc.. I sure do like that Trophy Boat! She handled the weather like it was another sunney day! "Sweet".
Felt good to hook into Mr. Wipper, & have a good poll bend contest. [crazy] Way cool to see there was so many of us BFT'rs out on the pond. What some diehards! [:p]

Wow, that is a big difference in water temp. We were marking 64.5* on our finder at the S/W corner but the farther East we went the colder the water got. Before we left, the water temp had dropped to 60.4* in the area a little East of Island. Maybe the Eastern part of the lake is just colder than the West part[:/]. Good to hear you guys were able to get out there with the kids and give it a try, too bad the catching wasn't better. WH2

[#00bf00]That is a pretty big jump. To be honest with you though I never even thought to check temp until right before we left so it could've jumped up west of the island. I guess I was preoccupied with all the fish[laugh]. The boys did seem to have fun though but I could tell it was pushing their comfort limits being out there. Hopefully we can get some better weather so we can do some fishing in the sun. I am glad to hear of all the fish being caught I was worried the low water would make a big difference.[/#00bf00]
