I just had the new Humminbird 797 installed, and I was itching to check it out on the water...... I was pretty depressed to wake up this morning to the pounding rain!!! So I sat around most of the day staring out the window just waiting for the rain to break. 5:00 rolls around and the heavens opened just enough to convince me its time to head out to Mantua....(one of my favorite local spots) Hit the water at 5:30 fished the far east end throwing "bleeding perch pattern top water poppers"
landed seven large mouth in about 2.5 hours between 10" and 13" nothing worth snapping pictures.

Lake vitals were: Temp 56, depth east end 9'.5" north end 3' and 19' in middle.

All in all fishing was great, got a little spinkles for a bit... spent most of the time checking out the new electronics.

Nice job, wish I could have made it, but could not bail out on the wife and kids. Looking forward to this weekend in Island park.

I heard Henry's was red hot last weekend, I've heard it will be pretty dead this weekend.

The new humminbird is great! There is still so much to learn about the side imaging. I think it will take a few time to work out the bugs.
