Took the kids out fishing in the canoe this afternoon. We got on the water at about 4:30 and stayed until about 8. We fished Wallsburg Bay exclusively trolling crawler harnesses. After the wind died down it was much easier trolling. I was paddling which made it extremely tough especially since my 8 year old wasn't paddling much and my 4 year old was a little nervous being in the canoe.
In any case, we would paddle up from the State Park into Wallsburg Bay to the end and let the wind drift us down back to the park and then we'd do it all again.
We missed a number of hits and landed only one walleye. It was decent, 15" and fat. Needless to say, my son was stoked and had the poor thing in a death grip as he ran into the house to show everyone. If its eyes were big to begin with, by the time he got it into the house, they were really popping out. My little girl kept arguing to "throw that nasty thing back!"
We only ran 2 color variations and had the hits and caught the fish only on one-copper hammered #3 blade and red beads.
