Hi Guy’s & Gal’s
I am new to this forum. While I am not new to fishing I am new to float or pontoon fishing. As I surfed the web, I noticed a pontoon boat called the “Fold Cat” from Sea Eagle. The web page was, of course, big on how great this boat was and how easy the setup is. It just seemed to good to be true.
I browsed through this site and I found no mention of this product. Do you guys know something that I should be aware of? I called the company and they said that the bladder material was PVC. Good or bad?
I would appreciate any advice you could give me on a two-person pontoon that I could put a small gas motor on.

Thanks,

Might as well get a boat...two people fishing that close together is an invitation to disaster. I often fish out of a 17 foot bass boat and I'm still ducking out from some of my partners casts. On the other hand with two float tubes you can rule the lake and each fisherman has his own space to fish. Check the boards float tube link for evaluations of lots of tubes and toons.

[cool][#0000ff]Welcome aboard. Sorry we can't provide much in the way of personal reviews on this craft. I doubt that many of our "regulars" would be inclined to want to use one. Most of us appreciate the solitary aspects of tubing and tooning in manageable craft with only one rider. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I brought up their website (see link above) and looked over the promotional info on the craft. It seems to be a "compromise" between a full size pontoon and a small boat. Some of the advantages of each. The fold up frame was a nice touch. Not wild about a PVC bladder, especially for a craft that large.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]However, if you are looking for a two seater on which you want to add a motor, it looks like it would be a worthwhile fishing platform Lots of features that are not standard on a bare bones pontoon.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Most of the major pontoon manufacturers offer two or three seaters, with motor mounts. They are widely used by fishing guides on some rivers and seem to hold up pretty well.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]If you are going to be taking your craft down rough water, definitely look for one with urethane or "bullet proof" pontoons.[/#0000ff]

I do know of one person that bought one off another forum, but haven't from him since.
It is a cool boat in the rolling out feature.
The things I personally don't care for are, the PVC bladder, the seat is very close to the standing platform making it tuff to stand up, and lastly, I see them standing and that is great, but in the real world, you really need a bar to lean against or catch you balance. Waters are NOT glass smooth all the time. I have a standing platform on my pontoon, and have tried to stand, but, really need that support with waves. I have great balance, but, casting stripping/balance well THAT"S JUST TOO MUCH[cool]
I do know they are adjustable in every way which is really nice.
I ff so the thought of two people side by side is not a horror story as long as one is either left handed or faces the other direction from each end of the boat. Spinning should be easier, so if you are thinking you and your wife, I think it is a great idea.
The prices however, really aren't that much less then what NFO (North Fork Outdoors) REALLY sale theirs for (not the price on their ad) And they are the BEST in my opinion.

Thanks TD
I will not be taking anything into any moving water. It is just for the wife and I or a buddy to fish from on a couple of small lakes. From the looks of this toon I could put another transom mount on the front of it and mount a foot control transom mount electric. Motor Guide puts one out.
Thanks for your input.

Thanks Flygoddes
This will be for my wife and I. There is a standing bar for this toon as an add-on. since my wife will be in the front, I don't think there will be any chance that she will be doing any standing.
Thanks,

[cool][#0000ff]Good luck. If you get one, please take some pics and provide us with a review.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]You are probably right about rigging a front mount trolling motor. A lot of tooners have done so and for some fishing applications they work better. Just be sure that you keep everything as low as possible to avoid interfering with casting and fishing. Put on your creative thinking cap.[/#0000ff]

By doing that, you probably will spend more on the motor than the boat, which seems pretty much the way it is out on the market[laugh]
