I like to fish magic reservoir, and have caught a few 20" browns, but not consistently. They are awesome fish. Any suggestions on how to nail a few big ones.

I haven't ever caught on there so I am interested in this my self.

I have no idea, but I hope someone will help you out who has some experience in that area.

I have fished Magic for years but have only caught Browns in the actual reservoir a couple of times. I know that if you wait until later in the season, say mid to late August, they tend to stage near the inlet before swimming upstream to spawn. I've actually had the best and most consistent success for catching bigger Browns in the Big Wood River itself, after the spawning run begins in the fall.
The couple of occasions where I did have some success catching Browns in the Reservoir, the same trolling techniques that work for the Rainbows seem to work for the Brown trout as well. I like using Rooster tails myself, but the perch pattern Rapala lures typically work pretty well too. I just hope that we have another season this year like we did 2 years ago, where in early fall the lake was just loaded with 18-20 inch fish, although mainly Rainbows.
