The Sparkinator and I tried fpr bass at "Devil Creek" yesterday pm. from my tube. Pretty tough with the wind and them not being where I found them last year. Probably too early. Found some along the E. shore in about 15ft. of water along the edge of the weed line but not many.[unimpressed] Anyone have any suggestions where they might be this time of year. North end shallow, where? Used a brown 5" worm hooked wacky like always at this lake.

Leaky,
I have yet to try bass fishing out here but back on the east coast I had a lot of success with a soft jerk bait call a "fluke" made by Zoom. They come in a variety of sizes from the very small (2.5 inches) "mini fluke" up to the large (6 inch) "super fluke". The methods used to catch fish on these lures are limitless...twitch 'em fast on top... troll 'em slow and deep...anything in between...all produced fish depending where they were holding. I plan on trying Devil's creek in the near future and I assure you we will be using this lure to find the fish.
Also spinnerbaits may be used to cover a lot of water until you find the fish. Once located you can slow down and work that area with the fluke bait.
Good Luck!

We (hubby and I) went fishing two weeks ago there and caught seven on the North end by the shallow's in our tubes. We put in at that place where the old highway goes down into the lake and just worked our way north and east the back across the lake.
Hubby caught a few on worm/ marshmellow... the others I caught with my rapala jointed lure and my acme thunderbolt spoon lure. They all were about 12" long. Hope this helps!

Yes, that helps a bunch, thanks. I know exactly where you are talking about. I kind of guessed that's where they might be.[
