I lost a lot of lures though. Kept snagging and sigh kept stealing both the lures and my bait. :-( My wife had a huge fish on the line, but it got away. It sure was putting up a fight. I finally caught this ugly thing though.
I put him back in the water and he swam away. I saw him again later in the day.

Way to hang in there for the catch. You can have miserable days, but when you catch one it makes the whole day great!
Keep at it. I am sure there are more out there looking to get caught by you and your bride.
People say learn from your mistakes, but it is better to learn from your success...now, what did I do to attract that one?

Nice catch, catfish do put up good fights sometimes[] What did you lures/baits did you use?

I used a gold jig head with a red eye wrapped in yellow feathers with a slip bobber. The bait used was day old pepperoni. I think the fish just wanted to be caught really.
