Well I knew it would happen but on such a great looking day...

We got to the lake (Jordanelle) and on the water as soon as we could water temps was 56 at 7:00 and 60 at 2:30 ...

We fished all over the lake from the north end to the dam and up Rock Cliffs arm and even up as far as we could in the river in 2' of water...

We caught only 6 bass and two trout, one was a 21" brown and the other was a 17" bow, the bass was from 13" to 15" we tried cranks to drop shoting and even top water with a fish here and there...

We talked to three other bass boaters who got nathan at all, but now I'm looking forward to tomorrow, today was today...

This is a bad omen for the rest of us when you get almost skunked at the nelle. I was headed that way tomorrow but I think I will wait for the stars to re-align before I spend the big bucks for petrol to get there. Seems like you fish there every day so keep the reports coming.

I appreciate your reports. You have never been shy about sharing technique or lure with others. Best to ya.

We think we know why it was a bad day, Monday or Tuesday will tell if we are right or not...[Wink][crazy]

If not, well back to fishing...[Wink] And try try try again...[cool]

Hey Cliff,

The past two weekends haven't been so great for you at Jordanelle! I was happy to get my ONE smallie last Sunday after what I heard from other bassers! I suspect with this hot weather that things should perk up before the front comes in mid-week! Go git 'em!

Is the water still stained ?

Well, since misery loves company, now I feel a lot better. Yesterday at the J-nelle was the worst fishing day ever. Carolina rigs, drop shots, spoons, luckys, nuthin, nuthin, nuthin.

The only thing showin on the fishfinder were tumbleweeds rollin across the screen. North end to south end.

ONE flippin bite in 4 hours. I got outta bed at 4 AM for that?

Looked for you Bassrods to come over and say hi, but I wasn't sure what your boat colors are. Thought I saw Scartinez, but wasn’t sure.

Be careful. There’s A LOT of debris in the water there. If you’re in a tin can that can go sorta fast, like me, I think you could do some damage to your rig.

I don’t know what is meant by “stained, but the water isn’t clear. Difficult to see a lure 4’ down. Possibly from all the debris?

The cold fronts that have been coming through have slowed things down some but now this hot temps should pick things up...

It is still stained but better then it was three days ago and the water coming in is warmer by ten deg....

I have a dark blue and white Cobra bass boat with Mojo on it if you see me stop by and say hi...

Thx. I'm in a black Smokercraft 16' tin can.

I plan on being there this Fri afternoon around 3, weather permitting. Maybe I'll see you.

I was in a blue and white older bass boat. I had my girlfriend, her niece, and friend with me. It was a rough day. I gotta a whole lot of nothing. Made the mistake of going to the provo inlet. Water was only 48 degrees and murky. Should have went north.I tried a few other spots and couldn't get a hit. It wasn't a hard core trip anyway having three chicks in the boat. At least the weather was nice.

Definately not red hott, but we managed 6 fish in about 5 hours Sunday morning. Not what I expected with 55 degree morning water temp. The fish we did get came on paddle tail tubes and old school jigs. They are real tight to cover. You couldn't get away with throwing in the alleys, it had to be right in the bushes.

The first fish we caught was milting all over. I didn't see any beds with the water clarity and I looked a lot. The fish are so fat they are ready to burst.

Think it was you in the blue & white basser. Did you launch about 6:30 A? Wearing a black hood?

I went North (while you went South). A la TD's post about being in a tube forces you to work an area more thoroughly, I stuck it out on the North end for about 2 1/2 hours. A horrible call even though I too prefer to work an area rather than chase fish. No one on the other 2 or 3 boats had a bent rod either. Then I went Southeast, then the South wall. My only bite was on the southeast side dropshottin a Storm minnow w/ Anchovy Smelly Jelly, but I could not convert...

I gave up @ 10:45, but yes, the weather was great.

I think I saw you up north and west side with three or four other bass boats...

We got there and was fishing about 7:00 we got two right off and then when all the boats on the west side headed south we went over to the rocky point and got two more and then headed up the Rock cliffs arm and got two more and the two trout...

I plan on going up there on friday for now but that could change...

Yep and on beds too...[Wink]

Sorry, I meant southwest side, not southeast. Sounds like you had an eye on me. But hopefully not too close. My fishing success yesterday was nothing to look at too closely...

See you Friday.
