well finally got her out on the water this weekend. In a busy weekend full of moving from one apartment to another, going to see some fireworks for the 4th, the wife taking the car for work (multiple times) I was able to peel off for a test kick around a small city lake. This one actually has a boat ramp but I never see any boats on it, I guess there banned now. But I was able to launch successfully all I did was put my water shoes on, walk out till the float was afloat, sit down, kick off, then put my fins on. Hey it works.

So I spent about 2 1/2 hrs, kickin around and throwing some stink bait for some catfish and a few small top waters for bass and sunfish under the docks. But no fish to show for. Oh well it was a first time ever to float tube and that was enough for me. I got off the water early b/c it started to drizzle and by the time I was at the ramp it was pouring down tons of water, so I got off just in time.

I was testing both of the fins that I purchased and the FC tube fins didn't work for me, but the other body glove ones worked.

once were finished unpacking at the new place I'll have to start gluing and painting now since the setup worked great!

heres a shot of the tube and some of the lake.

[cool][#0000ff]Glad you got to test your new ride and that you are comfortable with it.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Sorry you didn't get any fish, but city ponds are usually not "fish factories". They seldom get stocked much and are generally fished heavily by the urban populace. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The important thing was that you are finding out what is important and what is not. And, the choice of fins is always a personal thing. Brand, price and colors are not important. Being able to spend a full day on the water comfortably is important.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Once you are able to kick and maneuver instinctively, you can concentrate on fishing and not be fussing with your craft. Then it becomes more fun and more productive.[/#0000ff]
