Hi Mike,
The reports I have heard say that the kokes are very scattered, much smaller than Lucky Peak kokanee, and just not that good of fishing. Go figure. Two years ago was such good fishing for both of us. Thank God for L.P. this year. Lots of 14" + fish, but I know it is a long haul for you. Have you fished Magic recently? I was going this week, but talked to East Side today, and they gave me a pretty dismal report. Might have to try Salmon Falls after recent reports. Did you go after the chinook yet? Fishing at Sekiu for kings has been pretty good this past week. Mike

No I haven't made it out to Magic yet. [fishin]
I got the call from our guide up on the Columbia that they were shutting down the salmon season on Monday the 31st, so we changed our plans and went to Salmon Falls for the week. [frown]
If you are going to Salmon Falls for the walleye just be fore warned that the people that our posting these reports on BFT Idaho & Utah that are all bragging about all the eyes they are catching, what they are not telling you is the SIZE of these fish. [shocked]
I can tell you first hand, that between the small eyes and the perch it is hard to catch an eye of any size. For the 4 days of fishing I only put the knife to 4 eyes, the rest all went back in the lake to grow up. I only hope other people are doing the same, but my gut tells me different. [:/]

Thanks for the heads-up, Mike. Magic it is! Mike P.S.: If you are interested in the real picture of fishing salt in Washington, instead of the inflated reports at Olson's and elsewhere, you can go to wdfw.wa.gov./fish/creel/puget and get the actual dock counts. Sekiu is located under "Peninsula".
